Recommend mix of moderate and vigorous aerobic activity PLUS muscle strengthening 30-60 minutes, 5 days per week.

Moderate aerobic activity:

  • Walking fast
  • Riding a bike
  • Pushing a lawn mower
  • Doing water aerobics
  • Playing doubles tennis

Vigorous Aerobic Activity:

  • Swimming laps
  • Jogging or running
  • Playing basketball
  • Riding a bike (up hills!)
  • Playing singles tennis

Muscle Strengthening:

  • Yoga
  • Doing exercises that use your body weight as resistance (push-ups/sit-ups)
  • Heavy gardening
  • Resistance bands
  • Lifting weights
